Hi I'm a newbie and new to the world of Tech journalism.

I've been commissioned to write an article on Intelligent Infrastructure Management - systems that monitor and manage the physical layer of a network (ie what's connected to what and where is it?).

I would be interested to hear people's views on IIMS and your experience of using it. Positive & negative feedback much appreciated.

My guess is that this topic will only be relevant to Network Managers and those responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, however all views/opinions/experience welcome.
