See you there, Larry help building a linux sys plz!Go to the Tech-Forums Discussion Home PagePosted by: winblowz I'm gonna rid of my case and mobo to start a "new" system. I need a linux compatible barebone system. Along with it I will have... -512 mb ddr king hyper x ram -120 gig seaate sata barracuda (for winblowz) -160 gig Western Digital hdd for knoppix or gentoo or redhat or debian(i dunno) cant make up mind. - -lite on cd burner - sony 1.4 floppy - more stuff i'mlooking for a fancy case, not full tower, mid tower atx, i like fancy lcd display **** and stuff like that :) Im looking preferably for an AMD athlon sys, no intel(maybe) but if amd no 64 bit, too much $. ty thanks everybody for your help! :D Posted by: chrönik04 you could purchase one of amd's 64 bit chips and novell has a 64-bit version of suse linux that will be aval may 8th. (its no longer free) knoppix is a live-cd; like most of them you can run a script from the disc and install it to your hd. unless your in love w/knoppix for some reason, take a look at mandrake, suse or redhat enterprise. you can purchase all of these in boxes and more importantly- recieve plenty of live support in case you have problems.
