See you there, Larry 3d renderGo to the Tech-Forums Discussion Home PagePosted by: Genjamin I recently had 3d artist baz pringle create a render for my site- www.scifuture.com/splash.htm what do you guys think? Posted by: eXtremeReviews Very cool! Posted by: Hackerman I really like it, how much did it cost? Posted by: spfd dunno what the **** it is, but it looks good Posted by: Genjamin
Originally posted by Hackerman I really like it, how much did it cost?
I'd love to tell you how much the render costed but I wouldn't want to do something that baz pringle wouldn't want me to do. Since it is his work I'll respect it and just say that I am glad that I go the render and I have no regrets. Thanks Posted by: Hackerman so in other words you got it for free? lol Posted by: odessabo what program(s) did he use?? Posted by: Hackerman Probabaly Bryce or 3d Studio Max. Those are two great 3d render programs out there. Oh and there is Maya, another professional render device. but of course there is a free alternative. Its called blender. its opensource so you can further the cause if u know how 2 program. You can make renders, animations, and 3d games in it. its great. I am trying to learn how to use it now so I can start making 3d renders soon. Posted by: Hackerman Question: Did you do the flash? Posted by: chog This looks like 3dsMax. I believe that is too complex for Bryce. Posted by: ekĘsine no i don't think so. look at the refractions and GI. it is definately lightwave or maya. i'm leaning towards lightwave Posted by: MinDFreeZ HOW the !!^&.. I wanna do that.. I just got lightwave, 3D Studio max, and Poser 5.. oh yea, had Photoshop 7 and CS for awhile now.. got a bunch of tutorials on these things, but still learning.. awesome pic. EdIT: That flash intro is awesome too. :D Posted by: ekĘsine you wanna learn?, here's how. plan on spending at least a year to learn the basics, people will tell you a month, that is total BS. these links will help you: http://www.freewebs.com/computer-guides/test/3dsites.htm Posted by: man hey guys, i just started takin some intrest in this stuff and maybe one of yas' can help me get started off if so send an email to me at van1llapudd1n4@aol.com, or if you got AIM my s/n is hobotoes111....................ty Posted by: Hackerman
Originally posted by ekĘsine no i don't think so. look at the refractions and GI. it is definately lightwave or maya. i'm leaning towards lightwave
i figured it out, he used MAYA. IT was in his portfolio. I have a question, what are the advantages of MAya to 3ds Max? Posted by: ekĘsine 3DSM, lightwave, Rhino, i forgot the names of some of the other ones....are all low-end 3D modeling & animation software. they are used in movies like toy story, ect. Alias Maya, softimage XSI are high-end 3D modeling & animation software. XSI was used in star wars attack of the clones and Men In black I & II. maya was used in final fantasy: spirits within, and many other movies. the thing with 3D is it is used so much and so well most people do not realize it is 3D. terminator 3 : rise of the machines had some nice 3D models that are hard to tell apart from the real thing.....because think of it, where are you going to find human killing hovering robots that shoot lasers?.....3D of coarse. Posted by: Hackerman hmmmm 3000 dollars for 3dsm...... maya must be around 5-6 if it is truely that much better, which i can see it is from the work that he does, although many people unlock the power within 3dsm and make some real looking ****. I am really trying to learn, I want to apprentice with someone who does this because of the fact that they can teach me more than any class can. Posted by: ekĘsine if I had some more free time I could show you some Alias Maya techniques. Maya is the only 3D modeling software I know, although I have barely scratched the surface. 3D software takes a lot of time to learn. most people learn it on their own so being self driven will help. check out the links i posted and goto those forums. Posted by: Hackerman meh.... I didnt want 2 post it in another thread so here is my new site http://fnpsolutions.com/webtemp/Newtemp/ its the prototype for my v1.1 site and is not yet fully functional. The navbar links work except for contact and links, and in the portfolio none of the portfolio pages work. otherwise everyhting else is in pretty much working condition.
