Winnet and rundll32 ??!!

hi there ,

I suddenly found two programs running in the background which r ( winnet.exe ) and ( rundll32.exe , which i already read a topic about it that its adware i guess ).
Consequently i deleted both files from the registry (regedit) and disabled them by ( msconfig ).

My problem now that i wn i check the running processes i found both of them running , i checked ( msconfig ) again , i found that the disapled ones r still disabled , and there r 2 NEW files running.
i.e: there is a disabled winnet.exe , and running (NEW) winnet.

Is there anyway to kill those 2 files for ever ??

AND.........

Anyway i can know about unwanted files running in the backround ?? i got many of them...dun wanna delete a system process by mistake ...:)

well you see i had that problem, and i couldn't find a good ad-aware/spyware remover for free. i had ALOT of those things too. they would just pop up even when i wasn't on the internet. i solved it by re-installing XP. i don't know if you want to do that but u know..........

well , just to let u know i already re-installed WinXP :) , but re-installing is not the ultimate solution , coz at the 1st time u log to the internet again , u'll got all that spyware again !!!!

try going to the start menu, then clicking on search. then type in rundll and then a couple thing should be in the results. then delete those and see if ur troubles fly out the window.

Download CWShredder:

Run and hit the ->fix tab to fix all found problems

CWShredder takes advantage of security holes in windows so you should install all critical as well as hotfixes available from windows update.


Then repost a fresh Hijack this log .

Download 'Hijack This!'. [url]http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/[/url] or [url]http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=3155&file=3&evp=3304750663b552982a8baee6434cfc13[/url] and save it to a folder on your desktop.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.


Be sure to get those windows security updates and/ or better still switch browsers to something like mozilla, netscape or firebird as thier security is far better than that of internet explorer.
