Well here are my computers specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM
160GB 7200PRM Ultra DMA hard drive
DVD+RW
CD-RW
Integrated NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics with 64mbs
Do i need to uprade any of that... i do some gaming but not dedicated to it. Also i am interested in getting another computer and using this as my back up. My friend is going to make it for me and i don't know if i should stick with AMD or switch to pentium 4... He says i need to make my own choice on which prossecor. So what do you suggest?

That graphics card is the only thing that is in desperate need of upgrade. Get a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro or better. The rest of it is pretty up-to-date, although not top-of-the-line.

Well, if u want to play all the latest games, u r definitely need to upgrade your graphic card.

yes I'd say get at least a 9600 XT although a 9800 pro is preferable
also, the only thing after that would maybe be the RAM, from PC2700 to 3200 although you wouldn't really need that

Yeah just the video card. If you switch to intel, you'd have to get a new mobo too. And reformatt your hdd because of it.

Um, I dont know if you need to upgrade. It. What kind of games are we talking here? You said your not a dedicated gamer, so are we talking things like solitaire and older games, like AOE? If so, your system specs are just fine. If your wanting to get into more intense game, then make sure it uses the latest pixel shader and vertex shaders as more and more games (thief III for example) are requiring that. FX series, ATI, etc. Anyhow, its all upto what kind of games and what kind of work you're doing on it. Otherwise, you should be fine.
