I jsut installed Mandrake 9.2 and wanted to update my version of Gaim. I downloaded the .rpm and uninstalled the old version of Gaim. When I went to install Gaim I get this message
To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed (6 MB):
gaim-0.75-0mdk9.2.i586

Is this OK?
I click yes. When it says that is preparing the installation I get this error message
Installation failed:
file /usr/lib/libgaim-remote.so.0.0.0 from install of gaim-0.75-0mdk9.2 conflicts with file from package libgaim-remote0-0.68-1mdk
I have tried searching for both files that were listed in the error message above but couldn't find either one of them

Does anyone know how I could get v.75 of Gaim to install? v.68 of gaim can't connect to MSN or Yahoo because of the update that MSN and Yahoo did to their protocal. Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

Did you try installing Kopete? it's by far the best one out there. First do a search for "urpmi mandrake 9.2" and check out this site:
http://urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php. If you have broadband, follow the steps (start at the bottom first). Once you follow the steps, just think of the package you want to install, go to console as SU, type urpmi kopete, and your done. It takes care of everything and you usually get the latest packages. the only downfall of URPMI is that the sources arn't always up to date. So it might take a few trys to get the right one.
