I have a compaq laptop which is not working and I had planned on selling it on ebay for parts. Then I started wondering if there is any way to just take off the monitor and put the monitor itself into my car and use it for a tv for my game system.....please let me know if this is possible and how to do it.....

yeah there is, how badly busted is the laptop? take this into consideration

then take it apart and trace the power leads back to the distributer inside the laptop to see what kinda power supply ull need for it. then take the video cables and trace them back to see if u can identify what goes where on the integrated video card. then refer to a VGA cable schematic to re-wire the ends.
