I have an old Dimension 4400 w/ 1.6 ghz, 512MB RAM, and integrated graphics. It has integrated graphics in it, now what would be a nice upgrade that a 250W PSU could handle? I can play Source on it, as it loads fast, but the FPS just blows chunks. Any suggestions that will be futureproof for now that a 250W can handle? Thanks!

no offense, but i dont think that rig is future "proof-able"
perhaps some of the ATI 9xxx cards require less PSU power...check into them

find out if it has an AGP slot first.

Yes it has an AGP slot....

Than get the 9800pro. Should be able to handle i think.

from what i have seen witha dell the 9**** series from ATI is pretty good for alot of versions of dell.

Well the 9800 pro uses a power connector though, wont that use up a lot of power? Remember it is 250W

9800 Pro is a power hog. Try a low end 9200 or something.

How would a 9200 be better than integrated?

ITs integrated anything is better then integrated.

I would try a 9600. They are decent cards and as long as you don't have multiple HDs/optical devices you might be able to get it to run fine.

A 9800pro would be fine for a Dell 4400 with a 250watt PSU. I'm making this statement after reading the limited specs that you have provided.

Why in the world would you spend a dime on a old Dell 4400 PC?
It doesn't deserve to have a mid-mid-mid range videocard installed in it!
