[cant boot OS] -

hi,

I am currently trying to fix a computer doh!!.. it goes through the POST ok. It then tries to read from the first sector of the harddrive to load the OS. From here is restarts the computer and continuously loops.

I have tried installing a working hdrive but the same error occurs.

I think my next step is to update the bios but is there anything else i should be looking for??

What os?

Boot to the recovery console and try

FIXBOOT

FIXMBR

If your getting the exact same error on another working drive, try resetting the BIOS before you try updating it.
