Ok, when I start my computer up, I get a screen saying "The VGA card performance settings has been lowered because of insufficient power."
Or something like that. Anyways it is saying that my 400W PSU isn't powering it. Here are my specs:
Gigabyte GA-K8NSC 939
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 939
1GB PQI Turbo RAM
3 Case Fans
AOpen 6600GT
400W Antec PSU
I dont get it, it doesn't use that many components other than listed, what's going on?

Make sure its pluged into the psu...

It doesn't plug into the PSU. The fan plugs into itself on the card and then is just inserted into the AGP slot, and that should be it.

towards the back of the card (at least on mine) was a plug for the psu

i dunno...my 6600GT has a power connector....
i thought they all did??

Yeah, I am pretty sure they all do plug into the PSU directly. That is most likely your problem...

That was all the card came with. And you take the little white connector off of the card and put it where? I don't know if I have any extra 3 pin connectors, EEK!

Does it matter if they have those little "P2 " whatever stamped on them?
Posted by: Juice Daddy
All of them are putting out the same amount of power (12 volts if I am not mistaken) so it doesn't matter which one you plug into the card, they will all do the same thing...

Oh my god dude....

i thought that the four pins corresponded to the four voltages that drives need+12,-12,+5,-5 i dont see how one of these could power a drive otherwise 12 is needed for servo motors and 5 for eveything else.correct me if im wrong.
Counter strike- you should have one more lurking in there somewhere.

I duno..., I just remembered reading something about them putting out 12v...
Posted by: Counter-Strike
Thanks a bunch, I got it, never even noticed that connector off the side XD I used a 12v connector, and the speeds went back to 500/900.
Ty!
