Hi this is my first post, Im going to be building a computer sometime and have some questions. Firstly, would an AMD 64 939 San Diego 3700 bottleneck a XFX Nvidia 7800GTX? Next how much should i expect to pay for a good gaming motherboard for that card and CPU along with at least 1.5 Gigs of RAM. Also how much would a good power supply cost that would be able to power all of this as well as another 7800GTX in SLI if I add one in the future. For 2 Gigs of RAM how much would i pay Ive been told about £100. And finally any ATX motherboard will fit in my case but will i be able to get an ATX mobo that supports SLI, skt 939 and has 4 DIMM slots? I know thats alot but its my first time building a computer. Help is very much appreciated.

EDIT: Oh and i forgot to mention i wont be OC'in this setup at all.

First of all, I'd like to know what kind of job you have. Running two 7800GTX cards in SLI will cost you around $1400. That's more than my whole setup cost me. Anyway, enough of that...

That motherboard supports SLI, socket 939, and has 4 DIMM slots. Not too sure on the brand though, never heard of Jetway.
Apparently Newegg only had one 939 SLI board...but Tiger has a few more..

No a 3700 would not bottleneck it, and **** nice setup. For the motherboard, DFI NForce4 SLI-DR for sure. It is 939 4 RAM slots, and more OC options than you can shake a stick at.
And for PSU's, at LEAST a 500W.

Ok thanks for that. If I was to get a second card to run them in SLI I would wait quite a while though until i really needed it and the price went down. But anyway could you guys recommend some RAM and even a PSU. Thanks again.

You need at least 450w for a 7800gtx. I doubt you will need to add another 7800 for a long time, but you may have to upgrade your psu when you do. Get one of these:

I think any ram will do if your not overclocking.

I've heard that some F.E.A.R demos have been running shakey with the settings turned all the way up on a 7800, but that could be because it's just a demo, I dunno. You'll be happy with just one.

For RAM, I recommend only getting 1GB. You will not notice a difference in performance if you get 2GB instead of 1GB.
For specific types, if you arent overclocking, get Value/Generic RAM. Some examples of value ram would be Kingston Value or Corsair Value or pqi Power or even pqi Turbo.
As vaderpro said, the RAM doesnt really matter too much unless you are overclocking. Overclocking RAM performs no differently than Value/Generic RAM unless you are overclocking.

I actually suggest getting 2 gigs of ram. BF2 and Doom 3 are big memory whores. Also, new games coming out will more than likely require 2 gigs of memory.

Hey buddy, ordered it off of Newegg, getting it Tuesday, and it is great RAM. My friend had 1Gb of it and it even OC'ed a little.
Like I said, it is like me and Elba share 1 brain 8)

the pqi is nice stuff, as long as your not going to overclock.
For a PSU, i recommend an OCZ Powerstream 520 watter. One of the best around IMO

I've actually read a review where it was getting pretty nice overclocks (280MHz) with good timings. This was for the pqi Turbo, which is pretty cheap. The stuff I was reading about used Brainpower PCBs and TCCDs. There are different releases, though, and I dont know if all pqi Turbo uses BP and TCCD.

Ya, like I say, I'm not sure if it is all Turbos. But I know that at least some do.
