hi im going to be starting ap programming class in high school soon and i found out theyre now teaching java instead of c++. im guessing because of java's speed, its not too good for programming games, but could someone please give me some input on it. will java be fine, or should i try to convince my teacher to teach c++ instead?

Java is good. It is too slow for games but great for the net.

C++ is much more vital than Java for a programmer but knowing both is good.

I hate java. I would force them to do C++!
