I recently installed an Optisound 16 card on a compaq deskpro. After much time I located the drivers on the net and attempted to install them. they now seem to be availabale but I still get no sound -- on some programs I get a "system error18,3,118. any one have any suggestions?

Hmm... are you sure that there was no Microsoft supplied driver for your sound card?

I dunno exactly if it'll help if you upgrade to Windows 98 or higher.

Thanks -- I was able to look more closely at where the files were and found i had (or windows had) misplaced one of the files! Now it seems to work!
