Hi there,
I have Ad-Watch and cyber scrub and have tried winclean registry cleaner all to no avail...I keep getting this advertisment popping up asking me to download (of all things) a registry cleaner. The top of the window bears this http://isg10.casalemedia.com and shows no signs of leaving!! Any tips on how I might rid myself of this?? Thanking you in advance for any help you may be able to give me...

I'm getting these ads everytime I move between different web pages, it doesn't always happen but it's very frequent, and it's not like I'm on dodgy sites, just stuff like bbc or c4...I use internet explorer 6 on xp

You don't HAVE to go to anything dodgy to get infected, ok? Using IE is bad enough when you don't have all the holes plugged.
First off, download and install AdAware SE, SpyBot, SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, and Bugoff (Bugoff can be found at either of these two places: Bugoff or Bugoff
The other links are in my signature. Then I want you to follow the insturctions posted in this thread: http://www.tech-forums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34713
I am moving your post to the correct forum so when you post your log just post ir here to this thread, ok?
I hope we can get you cleared up. Liz

Hi again,
you're right, point taken on the browsing not making any difference...I've just to install the ad aware se you mentioned and I've gotten most of the others according to the step by step listed in the forum...I'll follow your instructions and see if that works, if not I can post an HJT report and we can take it from there....thank you for your help!

Liz,
I downloaded the new version of adware and went through the procedure you have listed, and bingo! So far, no reappearance of that hated pop up! I am eternally grateful to all here at CTF and will be recommending you to my friends! Thank you once again, have a great new year!
