hi!

this is my first post in this forum. well, i join programming forums but lately i have problems regarding cellphone connections which i honestly dont have any idea.

our group have a project regarding controlling devices via cellphones. we have no problem with interfacing the hardware components but when it came to connecting the cellphone to our computer, there was no connection.

we used serial port. the phone we're using is 7110. my other groupmate's phone is 3310. both didn't worked. at first, i thought it was the program we've made using mscomm control.

then i downloaded some commercial programs for use and it also didn't work. all programs either say 'bad connection' or 'phone not connected'

so, i think the problem is with my connection but i don't know where.

btw, we have just bought this phone kit for connecting different kinds of phone (like the phones we're using) using either PS/2, serial, or parallel. all three does not response.

please help. we really need to solve this earlier since the due is next month and we still have to make this universal so we still have to create a database for the devices this phone's gonna control.

oh, i have just solved my problem. i think the problem was on the defective connector i've got so i exchanged the one i bought. and now it worked!it connected with certain compatible programs made for the connector.

however, i used mscomm control but still couldn't connect. i don't know what's the problem. i thought the last time that i need to have a modem to connect through my phone but our teacher said that the last time that a group of students had a project involving cellphones, they did not use any modem. so i guess a modem is not required.

do i need to use an api function???
