I'm getting nowhere with cdrwin, i have installed the correct aspi drivers for WinXp, installed cdrwin4, but my plextor drive is only reconised as a reader? any help would be great. the plextor drive is - PX-W2410A

I suggest you try some other software than CDRWin.
Try Nero or CloneCD.

Nero & Clonecd both work fine? is there any other software that reads & writes Bin files?

Im sure that fireburner can burn *.bin files.

Why do they have to be *.bin files?

Blind read,Blind write works well on most anything

I got it working by copying winasp132.dll from the nero dir into the cdrwin dir.
this came from the cdrwin page under ide problems
