which system has the best Madden cart? I am a big NHL and Madden gamer and play on ps2. I tried the xbox and didn't like it as well. I don't know if it was that I wasn't used to the controller or what! Also the gameplay didn't feel as good but that could also be that I wasn't used to it. Give me some feedback because I am thinking of getting the xbox! slammer

I've got both. PS2 has a lot more games to choose from, but X-box is better system overall. Controls are funky at first, but you start to like it after a while. My only complaint for X-box is the lack of choices when it comes to games. If there were more, better games, X-box would be the best system out there. But, I'd go with the PS2 if I were you.

PS2, better games by far. The only good Xbox game out right now is Halo (which is coming for PC), and Morrowind (on Pc too) kinda if you love RPG's. Believe me, I have both Xbox and PS2. All the good Xbox games coming out Unreal Championship, Doom III, Splinter Cell, will or are also out on PC or PS2 as well.

Xbox's online plans are a little better, but I dont think it should be a big decider in choosing which system to buy.

In conclusion, a system is only as good as the games out for it, and PS2 clearly dominates in that area.

Currently I have PS2, but plan on getting an X-Box.

Both are good consoles :)

XBOX is the way to go mate.

Posted by: DMo224

We've played both, but my sons choose xBox. Since they were buying, who am I to complain?

I'm trying to talk 'em into buying the PS2 since it will also play the PS games. We have alot of them. PS2 does seem to have a larger selection.

:D

i have both and as far a single player games go, buy a ps2, but for multiplayer go xbox

synopsis: loner=ps2
cool guy with loads of friends: xbox

lol, and you can remedy the big controllers problem by buying a microcon (25$ us)

Hey, I have to admit, I have both. XBOX and PS2 both have their pos and cons. XBOX- big, bulky, few games, good graphics. PS2- lots of games, XBOX has better graphics, my favorite games are on PS2.

Being open minded is always key. I'm a hardcore gamer and play both PS2 and Xbox (and occasionally when there is a title not on those 2 I play Gamecube.)Both offer up pretty much the same line-up when it comes to the titles people wanna play( Grand Theft Auto aside which is coming to Xbox and Gamecube next year.). Granted PS2 has more titles but alot of it is ideas that are just rehashed with different characters, come on you can only play platform style games for so long before they all seem the same.

Bottom line is I'm an Xbox fan. I have a modded machine.(XBOX and PS2) but the Xbox does everything, It's a media player, an arcade emulator, all the previous systems are emulated at 110% with the exception of N64. The key is unlocking these extra features on your xbox. Believe me when you do you'll love everything you can do with it.

Get the linux kit for PS2, its got a 40 gig HD and you can do way more then what you can do on the XBOX :-)

Posted by: Ouji-Vegito

I still tend to wonder where you get your information. Just because you can get a Linux pack with a hard drive doesn't mean you can do more on it than Xbox. 1- You can put linux on Xbox for free, with no need to purchase anything. 2- The average gamer doesn't know how to use linux. Not only that the average gamer is going to need a few lessons to pick up on how to use the linux appz to get them to run.(This requires editting code.) I only know a hand full of people who understand linux enough for this to be easy.
Xbox does all the bonus stuff with just a mod and anyone can print a tutorial that a 12 year old can understand put the chip in and the appz are just as simple, No linux required and nothing to buy but the mod chip. And I still wanna know what it allows you to do on PS2 that Xbox can't.
still tend to wonder where you get your information.
What information are you talking about?
you can put linux on Xbox for free, with no need to purchase anything.
okay, gotcha there, wha is the newest version 6 gigs? not sure. not gonna hold what I need.
The average gamer doesn't know how to use linux.
Then why would they get a linux kit?
Xbox does all the bonus stuff with just a mod and anyone can print a tutorial that a 12 year old can understand put the chip in and the appz are just as simple, No linux required and nothing to buy but the mod chip.
12 year olds wouldn't get linux. Okay, you spend a hundred dollars for a PS2 40 gig hard drive, bigger then the XBOX one, big deal. There are mod chips for PS2 too, that do similar.
to do on PS2 that Xbox can't.
Absolutely nothing. With modifications they can do the same thing. Maybe you have to spend 75-100 more dollars to do it, but its worth it.

And when I talk I do not base my information on one thing. Just cause the PS2 has a linux kit doesn't make it good or better. You have to look at a different perspective. When I look at it , overall, I see that the PS2 is a better console. Do you work in the gaming industry? If so please tell me because I do.

Posted by: randy

Oh yah, and the PS2 doesn't need LINUX KIT to do mods. That wouldn't make much since actually. Sorry about me if I got a little, I don't know in that last post... hyper/angry.

Posted by: Shakie

Man, most of the stuff you say I don't get, but you crack me up anyway.

Posted by: randy

How do you don't get it? Am I like rambling on a bunch of nothing or what? Some people I just ramble and smush so much info together that nobody gets it. :-(

Posted by: Ouji-Vegito

That proves my point! The average gamer has no idea what this stuff is or that it exists. Let alone what to do with it. For most a mod chip is more than enough to be able to get tons of fun extras.

And as for my info and gaming backround, I'm into every aspect of the business, if I wasn't I wouldn't be posting on the forum.

Posted by: randy

Exactly, now you are saying the same thing I DID. THERE ARE MOD CHIPs for the PS2 also. You just gotta get the HD first.

Posted by: Ouji-Vegito

Why do you have to get a Hardrive first?

I have a modded PS2 and i don't have a hard drive.

Posted by: randy

Well you dont have to have the HD but its useful if you want to store stuff on the PS2, like music, video, etc.

Posted by: dethangel

ps2 has final fantasy and mega man exclusively, otherwise i wouldnt own one, lol

Posted by: electronicfreak

Straight up STOCK I would go for a PS2 but a Xbox you can do SO much more modded and such.

Have to love Dollar Bill Gates

Posted by: dethangel

i have both xbox and ps2, and my ps2 cant touch my xbox (graphically and fun factor with friends) honestly i like my xbox more for playing with people (ie: no need for a multitap to have 4 peeps playing) and pretty much all i play is multiplayer games (halo, james bond, monopoly, unreal championship, medal of honor) and most of my fav games, or games im lookg for ward to are out for all 3 consoles, ie: starcraft: ghost, soul calibur 2 (spawn kicks link's *** lol) and halo2 is just gonna own

and the most important reason you shouldnt listen to randy is i dont trust someone that cant even spell sense (cant spell it and obviosuly dont have it, lol)
Oh yah, and the PS2 doesn't need LINUX KIT to do mods. That wouldn't make much since actually. Sorry about me if I got a little, I don't know in that last post... hyper/angry.
lmao!!!!!!!!!

Buy them both! ;)

I couldn't live without the FF series, which is PS2 Exclusive.
And I really love the LIVE feature with XBox so... well depends really, I'ds say buy both but then the question; which one first? pops up. And to answer that you can do yourself really, just ask yourself: Online or offline?

There you go!

has any1 else heard that gta is coming to xbox at the end of the year? and also half life 2 will be an xbox exclusive

Posted by: Darkman7

When upgrading to a new generation console, I chose to go with the PS2 initially, as the PS1 was my games machine of choice (even though I owned a SEGA DREAMCAST at the time).

After a while I played a few games on the XBOX (Halo in particular) which made me part exchange the PS2 for the XBOX.

Now, a year after purchasing the XBOX (which was also co-dependant on the fact that Rockstar Games were going to produce a copy of GTA3 with enhancements), Im still happy that I got the XBOX. I just miss the PS2, because the GTA franchise was bought by SONY.

After reading a recent article though - Rockstar are bringing their award winning franchise to the XBOX!!! (Hopefully with the chance to burn your own 'choons' and do a drive-by to some
'50 Cents'!).

Can't Wait.................................................:p

Posted by: electronicfreak

Its actually going to be called VICE CITY...They dropped the GTA for its XBOX release

Posted by: dethangel

whos cares what the name is, all i care about is that an enhanced versoin of gta 3 and vice city is coming to xbox, bundled in one package, and its gonna be sweet!!!!!

Posted by: electronicfreak

Right now Sony is fighting this and its highly doubful the actual game will be on Xbox since it is a PS2 'exclusive' They will need to do 'more than just change the name' for this to compensate says one Sony exec.

Vice City to Xbox

Recently, speculation has circled the video game community about Rockstar bringing the Grand Theft Auto series to hopeful Xbox owners. This May, CEO of Take Two Interactive, Jeffery Lapin was quoted saying, "there will be an Xbox SKU from Rockstar in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2004 but we're not going to comment on what it is at this point." Of course, anyone who read this immediately thought of the company's most popular franchise: Grand Theft Auto. Certain sources are today commenting that it does indeed look like the title Take Two is alluding to a GTA game.

Kind of. The Grand Theft Auto games are a Playstation exclusive. Word is that Rockstar plans to release "Grand Theft Auto Vice City" on the Xbox simply titled "Vice City" - thereby magically disassociating it with GTA. Interesting. Can they do that?

Assuming all of this is true and more than speculation and codswallop, Xbox owners could probably look forward to improved graphics over the PS2 version and also a custom radio station using the Xbox hard drive (which is an option for the already released PC version). there will be a vice city/gta 3 bundle out for xbox either for holidays or early next year, so i take their word for it.

i dont care what its called, final fantasy by any other name would be just as sweet

Just my two cents, but I would take an XBOX over a PS2 7 days a week and twice on sunday..

But then again, Bill Gates is my Hero..
