Hey!
Well my friend wants to make a web site for his DJ'ing service.
He has no clue where to start and I have no clue either. He was thinking about hosting his site on some Yahoo server but it's $150.00 a year. We think that's kinda expensive for a small buisness so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on who we should pick to host the site, and at a good price. He was also thinking about buying a domain name. I found a few sites that had some good prices but we weren't sure if it was the best or if we could trust them. In conclusion we would like any info on from how to host a site or who to choose to who we could buy a domain name from.
P.S. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have no clue what to do so thanks in advance!

well it depends on what you want to host. For a dj, i would think that you would want to announce what gigs this person's playing, have a request form for his services (maybe /w quote estimates), what they have already done (resume-ish), maybe some snippets of songs or track listing.
I think a message board is a greta way to communicate with your users. Make sure you get a database on your host and run phpbb on it.
i remember seeing a google ad for 20gb /w 5 mssql dbs + more crap for 8 per mo. I'll see if i can dig up 4 ya.
hey that was quick: http://www.canaca.com/virtual.html

I use http://bluehost.com and I'm very please with them so far. I get 2Gb of space and 75Gb of bandwidth for $7 a month since I signed up for a year. That extra space and bandwidth could be used to store audio and video of his work. Everything else such as databases, emails, and databases is just about unlimited. As for domain names I only use http://godaddy.com $9 for a .com domain isn't too bad.
