I am currently building a website and want to have a news script on the main page. Members (that I choose) can post news on the main page.

I want each post to be able to contain the users unique picture, their name, a subject, the news in full and possible the date. I can draw up a quick sceamatic if it helps.

Does anyone know a free script that does this. I would prefer if it was cgi since i have had experience with that.

Do you want something like moveabletype.org ... or wordpress.org? Check those out, they might help you.

CGI scripts aren't that hard, I personally like PHP and am in the process of writing a simple news script. There are plenty of good tutorial sites and books around the internet. Just google it.
