has anyone tried Beta?

Interesting...I may get to trying beta sometime before summer ends. Not something I would want to use as a main OS though...not that I would use XP itself in any shape or form as a main OS anyway if I had the choice...

hahaha - but people see BETA and jump all over it, regardless of what it is :)
I dont know what I would be able to do If i could not multi task...I dont think XP Lite is the one for me :p

Personally i can't see it taking off at all.
Chances are most folk have XP (Home or Pro) now anyway.
Some of the features they've done away with like display resolution set to 800x600 maximum and no support for PC-to-PC home networking, sharing printers across a network or more advanced features just isn't going to do it for people.

This sounds like the crappiest operating system possible. There is no way I would install that. If they want something that is that crippled, just give 'em Windows 95 or something. I think this is a bad move for Microsoft.

Beedubaya - Do you work in tech support?
I think a DUMMED down version of XP would be a good thing (providing it is SO dumbed down even a 90 year old dial up customers can use it)
:p

Sounds gay. No networking, 800x600. Bah!!

Yeah the 800x600 res is pretty lame.

you would be surprised by how many keep their res on 800x600 .

lol....i cant stand it....even on a large monitor

I wouldn't buy it though it would prolly run a little faster on my comp, but 800x600 sucks, i need at least 1024x768......If I had a small 14" monitor it would be great but not on my 17"

ok, its been established that 8x6 would suck for any of us here...but imagine how much of a blessing it would be working in Tier 1 support helping a 90 yr old man do a DUN set up.
Good move on m$ IMO.
