Discuss August Idea - Tech Education and Certification

Posted by: Jack

One of the topics I would like to see presented in the August Newsletter is Technical Education and Certifications. This can be (should be) two seperate discussions but one that is very much at the heart of Tech-Forums.

Please post all your Ed/Cert ideas in this thread.

I'm thinking of a "What Do I Do Article?"..... when it comes to school, certifications And computers :)

Not sure on the focus of the article, but it seems to be a good topic. Focused on the people just starting college, etc. OR people in the middle of a career cjhange???

thoughts?

"I want a certification"

The article takes the reader at the beggining threw the possablities of having a certification and what it can do for you. then go onto what certification would be best for you by describing them in emense detail. then how to prepair for each given one. than tips for test day

That sound like a great start. Lets use this thread to build the article. As everyone posts content I will take it and assemble it into the copy for the newsletter.

Why don't we have a poll and have our elite members vote on what kind of computer experience they have.

That data can help distinguish the streangths and weaknesses of the available knowledge base. The results could be posted in the newsletter, I'm sure the members would like to know how vast the well of knowledge can be. (I know I'd like to know)

Also maybe post some interesting facts such as 'how long have you worked in the computer field' and 'how did you get your foot in the door'

I would be neat to know that combined the TF community has 50,000 years of good solid work experience. (Just add my measly 7 years in somewhere :) )
