Discuss Mac Int. SCSI HD tool?

Hi everyone, I'm a new member and for my 1st. post...I've a simple question - Is there a tool that's availible for dis-connecting ribbon cables such as internal SCSI and IDE HD connections? - where big fingers such as mine can put 'em together, but space constraints make it difficult to un-connect them w/o feeling like you're gonna ruin the ribbon by slipping off of your 'purchase'.
I figured bentnose pliers would work, but, the grasping angle was 90 degrees from proper angle of attack. I guess I should explain that my problem concerns a 6400 PPC upper bay SCSI HD[Mac] that does'nt have much cable play. I should have maybe used a extension cable at 1st....But who would have known I'd be replacing 2 crapped-out SCSI HD's in the last yr.!!?? And besides, you have to dis-connect them occasionally when setting them up termination-wise and ID-ing. Sigh....Why did Apple ever come out with the clunkey 64-6500 series PPC w/IDE int. H.D. and SCSI peripherals?
I've got mine running under OS 9 w/a crescendo g3 400 card and USB PCI-[gotta love the elegance of USB!]...but that 136 ram limit and SCSI limitations really ruins a [albeit fairly expandable] machine.
Any remarks?
Rick
