The subject says it all
I'm considering getting a Power book and want to know how much of my old stuff will work on a mac.
(Roms and such)

Depends on what you have on your PC. If you have office documents, you shouldn't have too much of a problem, just get the mac version of office.
If you have applications, that is a different story. Most if not all of the applications won't run on a mac unless you use a PC emulator.

How about Zip files?
I know Mac has Game Emus but all my SNES/CPS 2 and Neo Geo Roms are in Zip Format.
How does Mac MAME run?

You can unzip the files but the files themselves might not work in a mac system.

Macs can open all .zip files.
Check out: http://www.zophar.net/mac/mame.html for MAME on OSX. As far as how it runs, Im not sure.

A lot of your windows files wont be able to cross into the word of the Mac, but some will. You can let go of most of your applications because those aren't going to fly over to your Mac.

BUT, if you take the time to look, you will be able to find Mac versions of several PC apps. So you don't necessarily have to 'let them go' but you do have to know where they are to get them. :)
