What carrier are you with? Are they offering any deals on phones? If you're not with a carrier yet then shop them first and see what deals they have to offer. Usually first time customers get the best deals.

I got my phone for free ($200 value) because I extended my contract for two more years.

LG VX3100. $20 from Verizon if you look hard. Pretty spartan, though. (no color, pc connectivity, etc, etc.)
