I am looking for one of the pioneer dvd burner tivos and so far all I have found are about 900+, so I have been bidding on them at ebay. Does anyone know where I could get one for cheaper or where I could get a good deal without having to bid...lol?

thats a freakin ripoff. i could build a TIVOish computer for that price with DVD burner and the whole works and with massive storage.....total rip off. those home entertainmet gizmos are for people who don't know how to use a computer to do what they want. you also should look into a Windows XP Media Center Edition computer. they are specially designed for multimedia including recording. or get yourself a nice all-in-wonder or a VIVO video card.

In general, TIVO is a thing you connect to your TV that records live television so you can come back and watch them later. They come with different amounts of recording time and some with DVD recorders so you can record your TV shows directly to CD.

Yeah, they are pretty cool little things. I am getting one specifically for my wife cause she hates computers and those things are pretty easy to use and self explanatory....and shes used one before....lol

theyr good cuz even when ur not recording u can rewind .... my friend has it n we watch basketball n we can rewind and see a play n the click "go live" to return to the game...
