i was wondering what is the difference between communication and storage internet speed, i just ran a bandwidth test and my communication speed is 2.8 megabits/s and storage is 344.5 kilobytes/s currently and 1 mb file dload time is 3 secs. whats the diff and why is the one so much higher than the other? i understand the storage one cuz thats about the speed i get when dloading from a good server like yahoo or dload.com but what is the communications stuff
thx

Communication = Download speed
Storage = Upload speed (e.g. sending files to an FTP server for web space, or sending files via IM or file sharing programs)

Most residential connections are asymmetric, in which the download is faster than the upload; usually by a ratio of 6:1, unless, of course, if you use ISDN or IDSL.

Ok it really depends on how traffic is being use in the bandwidth.If there are many users then speed can go down, you there are few users then you can have a faster speed.
