i have own a server but not business class, i mean only a os(server 2003) do i still have to go on to register a domain on the web or the dns can help to do that? because my pc are slow i take a long time to setup that dns how it work? i just don't got it even after many try.

yes and no...
it depends on what you want to "DO" with your server.

If private use, no.
If want to use on "the web", yes.

Not nececerally, you can connect to a site via its ip ([url]http://127.0.0.1[/url]) etc but if you want to have a domain so people dont have to remember your IP then you can get very cheap ones at [url]www.oneandone.com[/url] or a free one at [url]www.no-ip.com[/url] (no-ip is good if you have a dynamic IP)

oh that is something i want to find out too, how can u make people from the web browse by one's ip? i have tried apache by not exactly know how it works, and it doesn't seem it work normally at my pc, can u explan how? or if i can set that up at iis?
