I have decided to give Linux a try after all the good things I have heard about it. I have a few questions to ask...

1. Where can i download it from

2. What in your opinion is the best version

3. Approximately how much disk space does it take up? I have an old hard drive I would like to install it on so I dont have to set up partitions.

2. Kernel 2.6 is good but not too many distros have it available yet. 2.4 is still good.

3. Depends on the distro. My Red Hat 9 takes 1 GB of space.

you can also go directly to the distros site your interested in and dl it. the space 'linux' req. is based on how many packages you install.
