I had an old Linux for Dummies book that I purchased like 2 years ago but never read until now. It came with Redhat Linux 6.1 and so I loaded that onto one of my 3GB HDs. It boots fine but wanted to know if I have another HD on my PC with Win98 on it can I dual boot? How would I do that? I read in the book about copying an image file to floppy and then to copy that to the Win98 disk but when I try to do that in Linux with the "mcopy" command it tells me it can't find that command. Do I need to load it off the CD with RPM or something?

go to ur bios and set the boot order... there you can choose to boot from you win 98 floppy or whatever you have (cd maybe) and then istall 9 on that, then go back to your bios and everytime u start up choose which OS u want to start up in bios")

If you have a CD burner and a fast internet connection it would probably be a good idea to download the latest RH .iso (RH9).

Theirs a couple ways to do this. I use lilo to use slackware and windows. Some people dislike it for some odd reason i don't know heh. BUt u can also use a floppy disk or cdrom and install a program on it to select where to boot from. Actually its on the slackware cd. I forgotwhat it is called but u just pop it in ur floopy while computer is booting then it asks what to boot from, such as cdrom,floppy,or hardrive (hdc , hdb, hda, etc). really nice when ur lappy dosen't have a bis option to boot from cdrom =)

Just load your linux cd and go for a re-install, but do it as an upgrade and don't format your drive. Then when it comes to the boot-loader part it should set it up for dual boot for you.
