Could Not Start The Windows Image Acquisition (wia) Service On Local

You may get the following error message while enabling the Windows Image Acquisition service:
"COULD NOT START THE WINDOWS IMAGE ACQUISITION (WIA) SERVICE ON LOCAL COMPUTER. ERROR 126: THE SPECIFIED MODULE COULD NOT BE FOUND"
This issue occurs if Still Image Acquisition service which is one of the dependencies of Windows Image Acquisition service is stopped.
To resolve this issue, start the Still Image Acquisition service. Windows XP Operating system does not show this service listed in the list of Services.
To start Still Image Acquisition service, perform the following steps:
NOTE: These steps are to be performed only in an Administrator profile.
1. Login the system as Administrator. Click Start and Run
2. Type Regedit and click OK
3. Click "+" beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Click "+" beside SYSTEM
5. Click "+" beside CurrentControlSet
6. Click "+" beside Services
7. Click "+" beside stisvc
8. In the right-pane, select Start key.
9. Double-click on this key and change the value to 2
10. Close the registry editor window
11. Restart the system
12. Click Start, Run
13. Type Services.MSC
14. Click OK
15. Scroll down to Windows Image Acquisition service and set it Automatic.
16. Restart the system.
