Wireless Access Network Security (WANS)

With businesses and law enforcement agencies networks are increasingly moving from land-line to wireless technologies, the National Center of Forensic Science had developed The Wireless Access Network Training Program. This training program is designed to promote awareness of illegal wireless activities, crime prevention, and wireless technology education for Law Enforcement Investigators, auditors, and Corporate Investigators

Students will learn how to-
Setup and operate a wireless networks
Easily compromise wireless networks
Use network wireless sniffers
Make directional antennas
Review different chipsets
Wireless computer related laws
Detect rouge access points
Conduct Perimeter Auditing
Detect and Analyze Access points

Wireless Network Systems used-
D-link, Sonicwall, Netgear, Apple, 3Com, Buffalo, Dell, Belkin, X10, and Orinoco.

Notes-
This is a hands-on training program; students will be expected to be able to perform basic windows operations before start of the class.

Students should arrive with a laptop running Windows XP or 2000 and, 512mb of ram. All other equipment will be issues to the student.

Students will be able to take home with them various software, antennas, and a wireless network card from the class.
