I have three computers at home networked.

The one connected directly to the internet is a windows 98 (1st edition) laptop. It doesn't have internet connection sharing.

As a result I use SpoonProxy (http://www.pi-soft.com/) on this machine and point the others to it.

It is a really simple proxy server - however sometimes not all the pictures load on a web page being viewed on the client machines.

As such I would like to use a different piece of proxy software

any suggestions? (besides throw out the win98 machine! ;-)

You could use a router to take the place of your Proxy server.
TigerDirect has good prices. I use a USR one. It has a NAT firewall built in and is easily configureable.
That's my $.02

Good day to you.
