    Scripting and the Unreal UDK

No worries. Remember, start small and don't bite off more than you can chew, otherwise it tends to make you feel demoralised. And most of all, have fun :)

    Scripting and the Unreal UDK

Try taking a look through the tutorials on 3DBuzz.com, they have a lot of Unreal stuff on there. :)

    Windows.h and Windows API

The header file contains the declarations for the functions and stuff that form the API. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the DLLs are just that (and other source files) compiled in to a binary form. Not the best explanation, but hopefully it makes sense.

Another dime-a-dozen thread - but i'll ask anyway.

Can you explain what it is you find confusing about the material that you've looked at? Visual Basic is awkward, and Python I've had my own problems with (mainly that all of the tutorials seem focused around the interactive prompt - ugh!), so I can understand there. But is it the syntax and...

    Ruby: where to start

There are some tutorials on YouTube that cover using Ruby with the RPG Maker series, so these may be of interest to you. If you want to learn Ruby for use with RPG Maker, this may well be the way to go. Alternatively, there are a set of general Ruby tutorials on there by SapphireSteel (there is...

    About obscure operating systems...

I've been running Haiku on a test machine for a while now and really liking it. It's fast, simple and in my opinion, structured like a home desktop operating system should be, although it's far from being something I'd use on a daily basis. I'd recommend giving it a try if you have the time. :)

How can I eliminate the"OK" prompt from a VB Script?

Remove all the instances of WScript.Echo from the script. Out of interest, do you have any knowledge of VBScript at all?

Re: What is your favorite operating system? Arch Linux, for me. :)

What should i use for Basic Gaming developing? BASIC BASIC

C# Station is where I started out and it's great for learning the basics, but you don't learn anything beyond working with command-line applications so once you reach the end of it, you'd need to find another tutorial that deals with stuff like Windows Forms, XNA and the like. :)

    What wireless adapter is it?

    C# Programmers..

I've been using it a bit at work, seems a nice enough language. Haven't really done too much with it mind you. A project would be interesting, certainly, if someone can come up with something to work on. :)

    Group coding project

Thanks. :) I've just agreed to help a friend write a GUI front-end for pacman and an AUR/CPAN helper for Arch Linux, which should be fun, and I'm tempted to put together a GUI installer to go with the LiveCD project that I'm considering undertaking. Probably dropping myself in at the deep end...

    SSD Lifespan

Where have you read those reviews? There are a lot of pages out there that show you would need to write significant amounts of data (terabytes) per day to your drive in order to kill it before its 'normal lifespan' came to an end. Granted, older SSDs may have suffered, but the situation has...

What imaging software do you use??

What exactly do you mean by imaging? If it's as answered simple ISO/CD imaging, then I just mount whatever I need with the mount command in Linux (mount -o loop image.iso /path/to/mount/point) and in Windows, use Deamon Tools. If it's for drive imaging, as solutions like Symantec Ghost and...

    The CF Sale discussion thread

I'm liking the idea of improving a section on guides, will that be something that everyone can contribute to or just selected members?
